This is a wonderful combination of a personal memoir, a biography of her father, and a history of early Hollywood. We get to follow the career of Lyle Talbot on his lengthy journey, starting with a traveling theater, think off-Broadway vaudeville paired with circus sideshows, to the early silent movies, and into television.
It was fun reading about the wide variety of personalities that he worked with, from Bette Davis to Ed Wood to Ozzie and Harriet. It provides a heartfelt look into a great career.
